Karthik SM has been appointed as Head HR – India, Malaysia and Emerging Markets at Biocon, a leading global biopharmaceutical company known for its innovation in biosimilars, generics, and research-driven healthcare solutions. This appointment marks a significant step in strengthening the company’s people strategy across key growth markets.
A seasoned HR leader, Karthik brings over two decades of experience in talent strategy, organizational transformation, and large-scale workforce management. Prior to this role, he held leadership positions at Biocon Biologics, where he served as HR Head – Global Operations and Enabling and earlier as Global Head of Talent Acquisition, driving high-growth hiring and building strong organizational capabilities during a critical expansion phase.
His career also includes impactful roles at IQVIA and Accenture, where he led large recruitment operations, scaled teams across geographies, and played a key role in strategic workforce planning and talent transformation initiatives.
Karthik holds an MBA in Human Resources from Loyola Institute of Business Administration and an engineering degree from Vel Tech University. His strong academic background, combined with extensive global experience, reflects his deep expertise in building high-performing organizations.
